Biography

Jason Skuda represents good people harmed by insurance companies, careless professionals, and other wrongdoers.

He began his practice in 2001 as a specialist in insurance coverage and insurance bad faith, advising and representing insurance companies on coverage claim situations. Working in the Dallas, Texas, office of a New York-based firm with over 1,000 attorneys, Jason moved into large cases that dealt with directors’ and officers’ liability, errors and omissions, and London-market (Lloyd’s) policy insurance coverage opinions and litigation.

After moving to Seattle in 2005, he joined a regional law firm, concentrating on insurance coverage and bad faith litigation, while handling a variety of other civil litigation matters.

In 2015, Jason moved to the plaintiff’s side and found his place and his passion. He now applies his years of insurance coverage expertise and litigation experience in the service of individuals, focusing on a select number of compelling cases, including insurance bad faith, medical negligence, employment discrimination, and personal injury. His focused caseload allows him to provide each client with the dedicated service they deserve.

Active in the legal community, Jason serves on the Board of Governors for the Washington State Association for Justice (the state plaintiff’s trial lawyers association), as well as the editorial board of WSAJ’s Trial News. He previously co-chaired the WSAJ’s Insurance Practice and LGBTQ+ sections. A proud graduate of Trial Lawyer’s College (2017), he actively participates in the organization, which is dedicated to fighting for justice for human clients, not corporations. Jason regularly presents at legal seminars and writes for legal publications.

Jason has a special interest in ensuring that LGBTQ+ people find lawyers who understand and value them. He served for several years on the board of QLaw, Washington’s LGBTQ+ Bar Association. His commitment to fighting for full justice for all his clients. Jason practices in Seattle and leads our firm’s Washington practice group.
