Allegiant Law Files $27 Million Lawsuit Against Ashland Montessori School for Failing to Protect Children from Sexual Abuse

Ashland, Oregon – Apr. 10, 2025 – Allegiant Law LLP has filed a $27 million lawsuit against Children’s World, a Montessori school in Ashland, Oregon, on behalf of a child who was sexually abused and exploited by a teacher over a period of several years.

The civil suit alleges that the school failed in its most fundamental responsibility: to provide a safe and secure environment for the children entrusted to its care. Despite warning signs and repeated opportunities to intervene, the school neglected to take appropriate action to prevent the ongoing abuse, allowing the predator to continue harming vulnerable children under its care.

“This case represents one of the most devastating failures of institutional responsibility we’ve encountered,” said Bonnie Richardson, partner at Allegiant Law. “The trauma these children and families have suffered is unimaginable—and it was entirely preventable.”

The lawsuit seeks damages for the profound emotional, psychological, and developmental harm inflicted upon the victim, and demands accountability from the individuals and institutions that enabled the abuse to persist unchecked.

Allegiant Law is committed to pursuing justice for these young survivors and ensuring that no other family endures such trauma at the hands of those entrusted with their children’s care.
